Renaissance Woman Retreat - FAQs

Do I need any previous experience?  No experience is necessary for any of the classes. Bring an open mind and an open heart.

What will a typical day look like? Breakfast is served until 10am and you can choose how early you rise.  Classes run from 10am to 2pm.  Before class you can choose whether you want to have an early morning walk, take a yoga class with Rose, go for a swim and so on.  Lunch is served buffet style in the restaurant, with various dishes prepared fresh on arrival at the restaurant. The afternoon and evenings are free time, so you might visit the spa (there is an entry fee and treatments are payable direct to the resort), go to the outside pool, have a one-to-one session with one of your hosts, go cycling or horse-riding at the resort, or take a trip into Urbino. Rose will also hold a yoga class late afternoon.  The evening meal is served at the restaurant from 7.30pm.

Are special dietary requirements catered for? The resort is a working vineyard that produces its own bio-organic wines (I can vouch for the rose prosecco!) and uses organic products and produce.  There is a shop on site for you to purchase wines and various products.  The food is freshly prepared with a range of choices, and will suit vegetarians. If you have specific dietary needs please let me know and we will check with the resort in advance.

I am not very fit, can I still join the Yoga?  Absolutely, Rose will offer movement for all levels. This may be your opportunity to try something new that you could continue when you get home.

Will there be time to do trips in the area?  Your afternoons and evenings are free time to do with as you choose.

Can I bring my family?  If you bring family members who are not part of the retreat please make room bookings direct with the Urbino Resort.  Family members won’t be able to attend the classes (unless you are booking them on the retreat).  From personal experience I wouldn’t describe the resort as especially suitable for children.

Is there a minimum age, I’d like to bring my daughter?   It’s likely that retreat participants will be adult women from age 18 upwards.  Young women from the age of 16 are welcome.

Can I come on my own/bring a friend?  Most definitely! Lots of women come on their own for some precious ‘me time’ and make lasting friendships with the women they meet. This is exactly how Rose, Mary and I met.  You are equally welcome to travel with a friend, and it’s your choice whether you want to share a room together or not.

Is this for singles only?  Absolutely not!  You may be single or in a relationship. The focus of the retreat is on you as a Renaissance Woman which embraces all of you, exactly as you are in a safe environment.

Will I have to share a room/bathroom? Only if you want to and this is a 4 star hotel. If you opt to share a room then you will share the ensuite bathroom with your room-mate.  The resort has a variety of rooms and suites so please discuss preferences when you book direct with the Urbino resort.

What do I wear? Whatever you like!  This is an informal and relaxed environment. If you want to dress up or dress down you can.  If you want to attend class in your jim-jams then you can!  Yoga is best in something comfortable that allows you to move (and please bring a yoga mat. They are cheap to buy if you don’t already have one).

What are the travel arrangements? Arriving and leaving times?  You can fly to Ancona from Stansted with Ryanair or to Bologna with a variety of airlines and share a taxi or use public transport to get to Urbino. Specific details will be posted to you on booking and you can use the closed Facebook group to arrange taxi shares.  Arrival is by 5pm on Saturday 16 September and departures are after breakfast on Saturday 23 September.

Is there parking at the venue? Yes there is.

Are there shops close by?  The old town of Urbino is about 15 minutes’ drive away.

Are there any discounts?  There is an early bird offer in place until 31 March for the retreat classes.  We have negotiated special rates for accommodation with full board at the Urbino resort, with both single and shared occupancy options.

How do I book my room at the Urbino Resort?  What are the payment arrangements?  Once we receive your booking we will put you in direct contact with the Urbino Resort so that you receive the negotiated full board rate.  They have various room options available which is helpful if you want to share with a friend, so let them know.  The Urbino Resort asks for a 30% deposit on booking and the balance (plus any extras you have while you are there, such as spa treatments) is paid on departure on 23 September 2017.

Do you offer a payment plan?  Yes, we do.  The payment plan for the retreat (not for the Urbino Resort) can be monthly following your booking and deposit, or in two further payments of the remaining 50% by 31 May and the final payment by 31 July 2017.  In both cases the final payment is to be made by the end of July 2017.  If you have any queries just email lynn@sacredintuitiveart.com
